Visa and Tourism

Australia has multiple options within the Visitor Visa category. In general, an applicant's citizenship as per their passport and the intention of their visit are the main factors taken into account when deciding which specific Visitor Visa to apply for.

Study

Australia is the third most popular international student destination in the world. It offers world class education at all levels which is well respected globally. Many Australian educational institutions regularly make an appearance in the top 100 global rankings. A wide range of subjects is available to study and scholarships are available to selected international students.

Skills Based and Business/Investor

Skill Stream Visas make up the largest group of Australian permanent migration visas issued, with around 68 per cent of the total Permanent residence Visas being granted in the Skill Stream. Applicants can include members of their family unit in their visa applications.

Refugee, Protection, and Humanitarian Visas

As a responsible member of the international community, Australia shares a responsibility for protecting refugees and resolving refugee situations worldwide through a system of international refugee protection which has several elements.

Join Partner or family

Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents and eligible New Zealand Citizens can bring certain family members to Australia due to their relationship with the applicant, as long as they meet certain other visa criteria.

Work related Visas

At any one time, there are over 90,000 people in Australia on a temporary work visa. They include people on Employer Sponsored or Working Holiday Visas. From the Australian point of view, this is an effective strategy to fill areas of skill shortages; for the visa holder, it enables them to experience Australia as a working destination, or as an option to establish a new life in a country of immense opportunity.
